Der FEP-0511 ist ein 5-Port 10M/100M Fast Ethernet Switch mit einem Uplink Port und 4 Ports mit Power over Ethernet Fähigkeit. Jeder PoE-Port kann mit bis zu 30 W versorgt werden. Das gesamte PoE-Leistungsbudget beträgt 65 W. Er ist eine ideale Lösung für Büro- und Heimanwender, die eine Kombination aus PoE- und nicht-PoE-fähigen Geräten verwenden;

Vier Ports des FEP-0511 sind PoE-fähig, was ihn zu einer idealen Lösung für die meisten Büroanwender macht, die PoE-fähige Geräte in ihrem Büro haben. Diese Produkte können eine Mischung aus PoE-IP-Telefonen, PoE-WLAN-APs und PoE-IP-Kameras umfassen. Er ist die perfekte Lösung für Büros, die ihre Büroausstattung und LAN-Infrastruktur mit PoE-Fähigkeit aufrüsten. Der Switch erkennt automatisch angeschlossene IEEE 802.3at/af-konforme Geräte und versorgt diese Geräte über ein einziges Kabel mit Strom und Daten.

Der FEP-0511 ermöglicht Benutzern die Einrichtung einer stabilen und zuverlässigen Hochgeschwindigkeits-LAN-Umgebung mit Store-and-Forward-Switching-Architektur, Paketfehlerfilterung und nicht blockierender Paketweiterleitung. Die 802.3x- und Backpressure-Flusskontrollmechanismen funktionieren sowohl im Voll- als auch im Halbduplex-Modus. Das Gerät unterstützt das N-Way-Auto-Negotiation-Protokoll, das automatisch die Netzwerkgeschwindigkeit und den Duplex-Modus erkennt.

Zur sofortigen Fehlererkennung ist der FEP-0511 mit einer Reihe von LEDs ausgestattet, die bei der Überwachung und Fehlersuche im Netzwerk helfen.
